Sunday 8th December, Madrid, Spain
It feels incredibly weird to be back in Madrid, sitting at my little window, tapping on my little computer, rugged up in my warm jacket, knowing that just last week I was splashing in a lagoon in thirty-five degree heat and laughing with my Mum at the dining table in her apartment. Rather than get into that whole side of things right now, I'm just going to post some photos from our one day stopover in Bangkok...

MARIA'S ADDENDUM...
And a few hours to spend in Bangkok before going back home so the trip back wouldn’t be so tiring. What I liked about the city is that it is full of contrasts: wooden houses that God knows how they are still livable next to beautiful two-storey brick houses; old Thai traditional markets near Mercedes Benz dealers, etc. It is a shame we only had less than 24 hours there and lots of presents to buy, so shopping was all we did for nearly a whole day. Well, that’s not completely true, we also ate lots of different delicacies from the streets sellers, mostly to make it worth dieting once we go back home. But though everything was very nice, nothing compared to the beautiful food Noo had been preparing for us back in Australia. Thanks a lot, Noo, we will miss it.
So after a few hours of frenzy shopping and eating, it was time to say good bye to Thailand as well and prepare ourselves for the harsh reality: back to work on Monday.
