Relaxing morning in Kewarra Beach, Cairns Northern Beaches. Kewarra is at the southern end of a long stretch of sand that also includes Palm Cove and Clifton Beach. The beach itself is clean and wide, and protected from the southeasterly swell by a rocky headland. It's an excellent spot for families, with picnic tables, play equipment, and public toilets all handy. The suburb of Kewarra Beach could be described as quiet and classy. Compared to Trinity Beach - to the south - it's a small community suburb with limited facilities. Much of the beachfront real estate is residential, owned and occupied by Cairns locals before development had a chance.

But it's a pleasant place to visit (or live!), maybe partly because of the lack of development. It's a great choice of you're looking to get away from the crowds. The long beach is fronted by a park, and if you fancy playing a round, the local Paradise Palms Golf Course is of international standards.
