DAYDREAM ISLAND
Tiny, jewel-like Daydream is close to the mainland and was one of the first of the Whitsunday Islands to welcome guests ealy last century. In those days, guests slept in timber shacks with crushed coral floors and iron roofs. The windows were iron shutters. Today, Daydream Island offers 4.5 star luxury in an island playground of dense jungle, fringed by outcrops of coral and colourful fish life. Despite the 4.5 star rating, Daydream Island Resort has a relaxed casual atmosphere, a real island escape!

Mesmerizing. The view from the pool on Daydream Island pool, in the Whitsunday Islands, Tropical North Queensland.Christened West Molle Island in 1881, the present name "Daydream" came into use during the 1930's, when the first tourist resort was established on the island. Daydream Island is barely a speck in the deep blue of the Whitsunday passage, measuring just one kilometre in length and 400 metres across at its widest point. The highest point on the island is 51 metres above sea level, a small but dense jungle of tropical vegetation inhabited by parrots and tiny sunbirds. The island is effectively split into two halves by lush rainforest. The southern end, Daydream Village, is popular with day-trippers and has pools, shops and cafes. The northern end of the island is for the exclusive of resort guests only. Daydream Island Resort has had something of a COLOURFUL HISTORY over recent decades, but the present day multi-award winning Daydream Island Resort is one of the most popular destinations in the Whitsundays.

The low-rise Daydream Island Resort underwent a massive renovation in 2001. Its 289 beautifully appointed rooms now offer some of the most modern 4.5 star accommodation in the Whitsundays. The resort has won a range of prestigious awards, including 'Best Superior Accommodation 4 star' at the 2004 Queensland Hotels Association Awards for Excellence and 'Best Privately Owned Resort and Accommodation' at the 2004 Queensland 400 Business Awards. The discrete style of the resort buildings, pools, restaurants and sporting facilities blend seamlessly with the natural beauty of the island's waterfalls, secluded beaches, lagoons, rainforest and flowering gardens.

Surely, one of the keys to Daydream's renewed popularity is its state-of-the-art 'Rejuvenation Spa'. It is considered to be Australia's premier resort spa and was named by the 'Holidays for Couples' Reader's Choice Awards as the 'Most Popular Resort Spa'. With 16 individual treatment rooms, many with private balconies, facilities include the most advanced hydrotherapeutic and salon equipment, utilizing a luxury marine based range of skin care products and cosmetics. Emphasis is on individuality Daydream's spa therapists believe that your body and its needs are unique to you. In the hands of skilled therapists, you can enjoy a single treatment or an entire health and body program that will return balance and harmony to mind, body and soul the choice is yours!
